Weird little games are my breakfast. I like to see them, I like to play them, and I hope to make them soon. Below are just a few of the ones I recommend checking out!
FALLSTRUKTUR
FALLSTRUKTUR is a game about getting to the bottom of a dreamlike structure. Movement is fast and slippery, but the geometry is sloped and deadly, so on-the-spot route-planning is the name of the game. That’s it. One level is included in this 30 MB free game. If you really like it, you can download more levels from the steam workshop. It’s short, and very, very sweet.

Nubby’s Number Factory
One review for Nubby’s Number Factory says that numbers aren’t actually made in a plinko-style factory. I think this is sad, but at the same time I am glad the sun won’t explode if we fail to make big enough numbers. Nubby’s Number Factory is all about making numbers go up. The better you do at playing plinko, the bigger the numbers get, the more items you can buy to further increase the numbers. Among other roguelikes with similar progression, Nubby’s stands out as being particularly addictive. The best part? The game costs only $5, and goes down to $2.50 on sale.

Straftat
Straftat is a 1v1 or 2v2 arena shooter for my favorite price: free. It’s fast, with sprinting, sliding, wall jumping, rocket jumping, bunny hopping, everything a good arena-shooter needs to excel. Straftat features over 350 different maps, and a buttload of different weapons to play with. A $7 expansion brings the map total to over 500. Just a super solid shooter that you can sink your hours into.

Squirrel Stapler
My favorite solo indie dev, David Szymanski, has made countless little horror gems. Squirrel Stapler stands out as being the strangest one of the bunch. Hunt squirrels, staple them to your dead wife, and meet God. Despite being so odd, Squirrel Stapler is a nearly flawless game oozing with atmosphere. The only caveat I have is its steep price at $8. It will only take about an hour to beat with no real replayability, so I recommend waiting for a sale.

Weirdness is what gives games their character!
